The Minister of Finances Yanis Varoufakis stated that he is 100% confident of an agreement being reached between Greece and its international creditors, irrespective of the outcome in Sunday’s referendum.

Mr. Varoufakis told the BBC that if the ‘yes’ vote is to prevail, then Greece will be given a ‘bad deal’, however if a ‘no’ vote prevails on Sunday then the Greek government will secure an agreement that is sustainable.

While optimistic of an agreement being reached, the Finance Minister warned that the situation in Greece may get worse before there is an improvement.

In another interview for Bloomberg, Mr. Varoufakis revealed that in case of a ‘yes’ vote on Sunday he will resign from his post, repeating his claim that he will not sign an agreement that does not include a debt restructure provision and solution the country’s funding problem.
