The leader of the main opposition Antonis Samaras lashed out against Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras, over a Monday-evening interview for Star Channel.

Mr. Samaras told journalists that the Prime Minister was either preparing to go back on his word or call a referendum for a return to the drachma. Mr. Tsipras noted that a referendum was possible, if the negotiations with Greece’s creditors did not conclude.

Earlier, New Democracy’s spokesman Kostas Karagounis called the Prime Minister’s interview “an absolute fiasco or complete catastrophe” and accused Mr. Tsipras of going back on his bold election campaign promises.
