The forest fire that broke out in Alepohori near Megara early on Thursday is subsiding. The fire brigade is increasing its efforts, since the strong winds could rekindle the fire. The fire broke out in a remote area in Neo Mazi.

The fire that broke out on Wednesday evening in Petra, near Varybobi on Parnitha is also subsiding. At present there is no active front, however the Fire Brigade is on stand by. The fire broke out in a remote area above the equestrian club, making hard for fire brigade vehicles to approach. The area is one of the oldest and most important hiking spots in Greece.

The Fire Brigade has reported that a fire at Kavos Isthmion in Corinth has been set under control, after an all-night operation, with the support of local volunteers. The fire, which broke out on Wednesday afternoon, burned down many acres of pine and olive trees, with minimal damages to houses. Fire Brigade forces are on stand-by, in case of any resurgence.
