The head of SYRIZA Alexis Tsipras and the Minister of Finances Giannis Stournaras argued in Parliament today over the IMF’s admission of error regarding its projections and multipliers.

Mr. Tsipras accused the government of not capitalizing on the IMF’s fault, stressing that crippling unemployment and recession and are not academic matters. Mr. Stournaras replied that the government posed the question in the summer, has achieved a debt haircut, achieved a two-year extension and adjusted the primary deficit targets. He assured that wages and pensions will not be cut any further, nor will any new taxes be imposed.
