The Prime Minister will appear at his part conference in an effort to rebuild the myth that faded away in the twenty months of his unorthodox and unproductive governance.

This conference will be nothing like the last one.

Three years ago everything was easy.

Then the sky was the limit.

The people were not reserved, they were willing to buy the hope he was handing out, his opponents were exhausted from huge burden of the bankruptcy and his party was prepared to give everything for the unique opportunity that lies ahead of them.

The opportunity was solemnly offered from friends and enemies.

Power was handed over almost without a struggle.

The management of power however turned out to be highly problematic, the party unprepared and the leadership was lacking, falling short of the expectations.

In its twenty months in power SYRIZA flew from the east to the west, found itself from the light in the darkness and the party leader had to renege on his first speeches and most choices.

The hopes he cultivated were denied, his policies collapsed, the people he presented turned out to be detrimental and the ideas wholly unrealistic and inapplicable in the present world.

The leader himself, after playing with the people’s agonies, has compromised with the worst nightmares of his youth.

For better or worse, he does not have options.

He will attend his party’s second conference promising growth and progress, while claiming foreign investments along the lines of the Chinese communist-liberal model.

The difference though is that he does not convince, rally or mobilize. He is on his slowly withering away.

He is unreliable, unable to create expectations or present a recovery process.

Over time even leaders can become a problem.

As it seems from the many surveys, the Prime Minister is weighing down his party.

The fate of the wicked, after all, is common.
