The Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras will travel to Thessaloniki next week on Tuesday for the opening ceremony for the construction of the Trans Adriatic Pipeline (TAG-AG).

Upon completion, the ambitious pipeline will offer a direct and cost-effective transportation route opening up the vital Southern Gas Corridor, a 3500-kilometre long gas value chain stretching from the Caspian Sea to Europe.

About ten days later the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin is rumored to visit Athens. According to reports, the Russian President will make an offer for the transportation of natural gas by Gazprom into the EU via the planned Greek-Italian pipeline.
