The situation in Idomeni is becoming increasingly more dramatic, as over 9,000 refugees are camped by the border with FYROM, in hopes of crossing over to carry on their journey.

Although the authorities in Serbia and FYROM have set limits on the number of refugees allowed through their territories, many more continue to head for Idomeni, by any means possible.

The weather conditions have taken a turn for the worse, with the rainfall and cold weather making the situation unbearable. NGOs and volunteers are helping the refugees, however there are shortages in medicine.

After the ‘revolt’ on Monday, which saw refugees pull down the fence erected on the FYROM side of the border and local authorities respond with tear gas and flash bangs, nine children had to be hospitalized in the temporary infirmary, due to breathing problems.
