The Mayor of Patra Kostas Peletidis has decided to organize a 220-kilometer march, from Patra to Athens, in order to protest the soaring rates of unemployment and pressure the government into taking measures for the protection of the unemployed and their families.

Mr. Peletidis explained that the purpose of the march is rally other municipal authorities across the country to join the struggle, in order to pressure central authorities to support the unemployed, particularly with housing and food.

The march is scheduled to take place in the first ten days of April, with Syntagma Square being the ‘finish line’.
