The weather conditions are expected to take a turn for the worse on Wednesday with snowfall expected in mountainous regions and the temperature plummeting by up to 12 degrees in many areas across the country.

Thrace, Macedonia and Thessaly will be the first areas in Greece to see snowfall, with the cold weather spreading to central and eastern Greece, along with the islands in the north east Aegean Sea.

The snowfall and cold weather will carry on spreading throughout the country on New Year’s Eve. On New Year’s Day however there will be an improvement on the islands.
