With the price of oil in decline over the past year, the cost of natural gas for both household consumers and industrial use is expected to drop in January.

According to a report in Ta Nea the natural gas supplier DEPA is geared towards reducings its prices for the three natural gas provides in Attica, Thessaloniki and Thessaly.

In Attica, where the there are about 320,000 natural gas consumers, the company is rumored to reduce its prices by about 15% during the first quarter of the year, when consumption is high. Over the past two years prices have dropped by about 20%.

Aside from natural gas though, the cost of oil will drop, with industrial consumers set to benefit the most from this. The drop in the cost of oil for industrial use may be up to 35% on an annual basis.
