The Alternate Minister of Public Order Nikos Toskas commented on the superb degree of cooperation with French, European and international security and intelligence agencies following the terror attacks in Paris. Mr. Toskas noted that the fearmongering does more harm than good.

According to Mr. Toskas, Greek authorities responded immediately to the request of their French counterparts regarding the details of two terrorists who entered Europe as refugees. Mr. Toskas noted that the details of the two jihadist terrorists were promptly confirmed and relayed to France.

In a radio interview for Real FM, the Alternate Minister underlined that of the 500,000 refugees who have entered Europe via Greece since the start of the year only the two terrorist cases have been reported. Mr. Toskas also stressed that Greece is a safe country and that security measures have increased in public spaces, near embassies and other critical facilities and locations.

Additionally Mr. Toskas expressed his concern over the efforts in neighboring countries to restrict the passage of refugees, such as the fence being raised in FYROM, stressing that this will create further problems. The refugee issue, he added, concerns the whole of Euroep and everyone must assume responsibility.
