The parents association of the Saronic Municipality has occupied the central officers of the Primary Education Directorate of Eastern Attica early on Monday morning.
According to a statement issued by the protesters, the occupation was carried out over the significant teacher shortages in local schools, which is in turn forcing families to turn to private tutoring services.
Furthermore the parent association called the Primary Education Directorate and the Ministry of Education to assume their responsibilities and defend public education.
