Despite being expelled from the parliamentary group of the Independent Greeks on Thursday, Nikos Nikolopoulos has refused to surrender his seat in Parliament to the party.

The now independent MP appeared on ANT1 on Friday morning and explained that he elected to protect indebted homeowners from auctions and to support vulnerable social groups.

Mr. Nikolopoulos also stated that when Independent Greeks leader Panos Kammenos resigned from New Democracy he did not surrender his seat, adding that he remain in Parliament as “a third and independent government partner, to support everything good and necessary”.
