The leader of the Alliance of Liberals and Democracy for Europe (ALDE) Guy Verhofstadt will be in Athens on an official visit on Monday and will be received by Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras.
The Belgian politician has commented that the PM Tsipras is willing to carry out the reforms and that Europe must demonstrate its solidarity toward Greece and help the country remain in the Eurozone at all costs.
Mr. Verhofstadt has been particularly critical towards the European Union in relation to the dramatic refugee crisis and has called for the creating of joint European borders and Coast Guard patrols.
