In light of the recent serious allegations made by Yannis Panousis, the Minister of Justice Nikos Paraskevopoulos has revealed that he too has received threats against his life, but at the same time stressed that he was not concerned about them.

Mr. Paraskevopoulos explained that “I have protection and my role is to carry on working” adding that by their very nature both the Ministries of Justice and Public Order attract these sort of threats.

Regarding the allegations of Mr. Panousis, the Justice Minister claimed “I cannot single out the claim, the facts, the political assessment, the criminologist’s voice or the novel with a reference. The good thing is that at the government’s exhortation the matter has been addressed to the judicial authorities, who will investigate them”.

The Minister of Justice clarified that Mr. Panousis had informed him of threatening messages, without however making reference to anything he could prove. Mr. Paraskevopoulos underlined that in his case the accusations were anonymous and as such “unreliable”.
