The police arrested five members of the “Team Epsilon” nationalist group for bomb attacks against the Bank of Greece in Kalamata and the statue of Konstantinos Paleologos in Mystras.

Authorities located the group’s hideout in Kalamata, from where they recovered a number of improvised explosive devices and weapons. According to the suspects, their plan was to carry out attacks against central buildings in Kalamata.

Amongst the five suspects is a 52-year-old man who moved to Kalamata a few years ago and four others aged 28 to 34 from Drama. The group reportedly stated that they aimed to take action against the political system, starting from Messinia.
