On Monday afternoon, the driver of the Corinth intercity bus service (KTEL) had a 10-year-old student get off the bus, because he was one euro short for the ticket fare home.

According to the father of the child, who spoke to Mega Channel, when the driver told the 10-year-old to get off the bus, he told him that the bus service “is not a charity”.

The president of the Corinth KTEL service Panagiotis Markelos confirmed the incident and argued that it was sad and disappointing. Mr. Markelos added that when he contacted the driver, he apologized and claimed that he was “not thinking straight”.

Prior to the incident, the 10-year-old student told the bus drivers that he has yet to receive his student card, which will allow him to board the bus without any problem.
