PASOK President Fofi Gennimata ruled out the possibility of forming an alliance with SYRIZA, arguing that Alexis Tsipras is “clearly seeking out reserves or willing accomplices or naïve accomplices for a possible failure”.

Mrs. Gennimata, who gave an interview to the Real FM radio station, argud that “of course, we all asked him to come to an agreement, but Mr. Tsipras threw the towel” adding that “he surrender unconditionally and because we saw that the course would be even tougher”.

According to the PASOK leader there can be no growth without a strong government with a strong plan and specific plans and goals. Mrs. Gennimata explained that she favored the formation of a national unity government even on the day of the recent elections.

When asked how the Greek government must address the debt issue to its creditors, Mrs. Gennimata responded that it must appear united and stressed that she will support the negotiations for further restructuring and reduction of debt.

During her interview she noted that SYRIZA has adopted PASOK’s proposal for the debt, namely to negotiate parametric changes, rather than go for a unilateral write off.
