Olympiacos was crowned as new A1 basketball champion after defeating arch-rivals Panathinaikos 93-74 in Game 3 of the play offs. This is the 11th championship for the “Reds” and their first “sweep” in the finals.
As with the previous two games in the play off series, the “Greens” were unable to match the “Reds”, but managed to put up a fight thanks to Lucas Mavrokefalidis and Vladimir Giakovits.
The “Reds” however completely dominated the game and was never threatened. Five players for Olympiacos score over ten points, while team captain Vasilis Spanoulis was voted as the MVP of the match.
