The Special Court is expected to rule on the case of the former Minister of Finances Giorgos Papakonstantinou, in relation to the Lagarde list affair. Earlier the prosecution proposed a guilty verdict.

Prosecutor Xeni Dimitriou argued that the former Minister must be found guilty of both charges – attempted breach of faith and tampering an official State document – and hoped that the decision would help improve the State and its administration.

Mrs. Dimitriou further noted that only Mr. Papakonstantinou had an interest in erasing the names of his relatives from the infamous list, to their benefit, while at the same time protecting himself by appearing to not be involved in the list.
