A car crashed into a Hellenic Postbank branch on Kifisias Avenue in Marousi, in the early hours on Monday, which resulted in the death of its 22-year-old driver and injury of the other three passengers.

The collision occurred shortly after 2am, when the driver appears to have lost control of the vehicle and crashed into the store-front. A minor fire broke out, which was quickly extinguished by passers-by.

The Fire Brigade dispatched six vehicles and 18 fire fighters to the scene, who managed to extract the vehicle’s four passengers.

The driver has reportedly succumbed to the serious injuries he sustained in the crash, while the other three passengers – one 22-year-old woman and two 20-year-old women – were hospitalized.
