Following a series of rather disappointing results, Greece is hoping to secure its first win in the qualifiers for the 2016 Euro in tonight’s match against Faroe Islands. Greece’s coach Claudio Ranieri, who is under steam over the lackluster results, is hoping to see his squad demonstrate what it is capable of and proceed with confidence to the next challenges.
Roma right back Vasilis Torosidis managed to complete Thursday afternoon’s practice and appears to have overcome a minor injury to his ankle and is expected to be in the starting eleven. Last night’s practice focused on set pieces, one of the Greek national team’s strongest aspects in the game.
Coach Ranieri is like to start with Karnezis under the goal posts, Karabelas, Moras, Manolas and Torosidis in the defensive line, Maniatis, Samaris, Christodoulopoulos in the midfield and Mavrias, Karelis and Gekas up front. Mantalos and Kone are also strong contenders for a spot in the midfield.
