The Prime Minister Antonis Samaras is currently in Nicosia, where he met with Cypriot President Nikos Anastasiadis ahead of a trilateral summit in Cairo with Egypt.

Following the meeting of the two leaders, Mr. Samaras commented that “in 2012 Greece was the weakest link in Europe. Today however Greece and Cyprus are pillars of stability”.

The Greek PM added that “God willing Greece is finally exiting the age of memoranda” and stressed the need to remain on the path of stability, reforms and growth.

Mr. Samaras further noted that “we are standing tall, despite the long-term recession” and that “chronic weaknesses” were being resolved. The Prime Minister also expressed his belief that “the crisis will send end for both [Greece and Cyprus]”.
