The Minister of Administrative Reform Kyriakos Mitsotakis is scheduled to meet with the troika in order to discus the implementation of prior actions, which include a number of dismissals from the public sector and other changes to public administration.

While the Ministry is not detailing the matters that will be discussed with the troika today, officers have commented that they have carried out the reforms in public administration. At present the Ministry must dismiss a further 5,500 employees from the public sector, to reach the goal of 15,000 dismissals by the end of the year.

In order to achieve this goal Mr. Mitsotakis is planning to dismiss a number of “suspended” employees who will not be reappointed, as well as civil servants who are found to have used counterfeit certificates. The Ministry is also planning to include employees whose fixed contracts were extended indefinitely via court order.
