Veteran New Democracy MP Dora Bakoyanni appeared on SKAI TV on Tuesday morning, where she expressed her confidence that the coalition government will be able to secure the necessary 180 votes in Parliament for the presidential elections early next year and claimed that the people do not want elections.
Mrs. Bakoyanni addressed a number of issues, such as the controversial ENFIA tax, for which she feels the troika has not provided any arguments. Furthermore Mrs. Bakoyanni claimed that the center left is not “reliable” and that the center right, in contrast, has had a very specific ideology since the times of Konstantinos Karamanlis.
The New Democracy MP stated that while she is in favor of civil partnerships, she does not support gay marriage and added that legislating on the subject “is a matter of human rights”.
