After a resounding victory over Senegal, the Greek National Basketball Team defeated the Philippines in their second match for Group B of the 2014 FIBA Basketball World Cup taking place in Spain.

While Fotis Katsikaris’ team was finding it difficult to score in the first half, the Greek team managed to curb the Philippine enthusiasm and built a ten-point difference (27-37) thanks to the defensive qualities of Kostas Sloukas and Giorgos Printezis.

Greece gradually managed to build the difference, with Giorgos Printezis taking the lead and finishing the game with 25 points. The Philippines attempted to fight back in the final quarter of the game, however thanks to critical rebounds by Bourousis and plays by Printezis and Vasiliadis, Greece scored it second victory (70-82).

On Monday Greece will face Puerto Rico at 9pm.
