The investigation into the alleged criminal activities attributed to members of Golden Dawn has been complete, with the investigating judges passing on the case file to the Judicial Council.
The Judicial Council will have two months to decide upon further criminal proceedings in the case, followed by the trial, which will likely begin at the end of the year. Due t the nature of trial it has not yet been determined where this would take place, as there is a high number of defendants, councilors and witnesses.
In total 78 Golden Dawn members have been investigated, with 30 of them currently detained, including 18 MPs and the leadership of the neo-Nazi party. The criminal investigation was prompted after the cold-blooded murder of activist and rap musician Pavlos Fyssas by Golden Dawn member Giorgos Roupakias.
