After the arrest of Nikos Maziotis in downtown Athens on Wednesday, the police has launched a wide-spread investigation in search of hideouts and accomplices, with Maziotis’ partner, Paula Roupa, being a priority for the authorities.

On Thursday morning counter-terrorism police officers were investigating an apartment in Exarchia, while other investigations are being carried out in Kolonos, Patisia, Kypseli, Halandri, Marathon and Grammatiko.

The police recovered a number of keys and a fake identity card under the assumed name of Michalis Michelakis, which Maziotis had used to purchase a car and with which he may have rented apartments to store weapons.
