The Coast Guard announced that after carrying out two rescue operations in the early hours on Tuesday it managed to save 50 migrants from off the coast of Lesvos.
The first group of 20 migrants was located early on Tuesday morning in an inflatable boat off Cape Korakas, while the other 30 migrants were on board a plastic boat in the Tsonia maritime area.
All 50 of the rescued migrants have been taken to the port of Mytilene.
