According to Ta Nea, the hospice is facing the possibility of closure, in about two weeks, as it has accrued debts of about 8 million euros, while its employees have not been paid in eight months.

The hospice’s debts are primarily towards IKA and the tax office. On Wednesday the tax services confirmed that the hospice owed 3 million euros in real estate taxes for the 2010-2013 taxable period.

Aside from the outstanding tax debts, the hospice is also facing serious problems with the supply of medication, since many pharmaceutical companies refuse to deal with the hospice due to its debts.

The final decision on the hospice’s future will be determined at a general assembly that will take place on the 19th of March,
