After a long battle with cancer, the charismatic actor, singer, songwriter and entertainer Sakis Boulas passed away early on Friday morning at the age of 60. Boulas, who was born in Kilkis in 1954 and raised in Piraeus, became known for combining music and acting and had great success both in television and cinema.

While in his later years he became was mostly known for his acting roles in popular television programs, earlier on in his career he established himself as a prolific performer and songwriter, having worked with important contemporary musicians such as Thanos Mikroutiskos, Nikolas Asimos, Vasilis Papakonstantinou, Lavrentis Machairitsas, Mimis Plessas, Dionisis Savopoulos and Dimitris Starovas.

Sakis Boulas frequently collaborated with his close friend and fellow actor/musician Yannis Zouganelis on a number of projects, in television and music. He released three full-length solo records and performed in thirteen films, since his film debut in 1981.
