According to River MP Jason Fotilas, his party must align itself with New Democracy, following the election of its new leader Kyriakos Mitsotakis.

In a Tuesday morning interview Mr. Fotilas told Mega Channel that his party “must help New Democracy in its effort” and claimed that the election of a new main opposition leader create the necessary conditions “to strike stagnation”.

When asked whether he has actually discussed this opinion with his party leader Stavros Theodorakis, Mr. Fotilas responded that the proposal would be debate during the next parliamentary group meeting.

Mr. Mitsotakis has arranged to meet with Mr. Theodorakis on Thursday in Parliament. A meeting has also been called with PASOK leader Fofi Gennimata on Friday, however the likelihood of an alliance is slim.
