The president of PASOK Fofi Gennimata argued that “an abyss” separates her from the beliefs of newly-elected president of New Democracy Kyriakos Mitsotakis, during an official visit in Piraeus, where the metro network is being expanded.
The PASOK leader further elaborated that neoliberal beliefs and policies are already being implemented on a daily basis by the current government, adding that the social security reform that is being planned is a prime example.
Mrs Gennimata publicly congratulated Mr. Mitsotakis on his election and noted that it was “important” that the conservative party elected a new leader with a popular vote, which she argued was a PASOK proposal.
