About 30% of employees who applied to IKA, Greece’s state-run social security fund, for the ‘100 installment’ settlement over their debts have been rejected. This may result in the loss of over 1 billion euros for the social security fund.

Official records show that of the 113,932 debtors who successfully applied for the ‘100 installment’ settlement in July, a total of 33,972 have stopped paying. As a result these debtors – who owe over 1 billion euros to IKA – have been expelled from the settlement.
