Anyone with a sense of world History is aware that it is largely written by the massive population moves.
From antiquity and to our days, the waves of migration have been decisive in the development of the world. Whenever these waves developed they were never stopped.
When the human rivers decide to move nothing can stop them.
It is hopelessness that moves them and hope that fuels them.
At present Europe is receiving such an unstoppable human river, irrespective of any measures taken by the Germans or threats launched by the Hungarians.
The refugees and migrants are moved by the harsh conditions in their countries, the threats against their lives which they face and of course the idyllic images from Europe which they receive on their mobile phones via the Internet.
Just like nothing could hold back the Europeans when they migrated en masse to America, nothing seems capable of containing the Middle Easterners and Asians from trip to Europe.
So long as human lives are not rudimentarily protected and peace does not prevail in the broader area from Damascus to Karachi and from Khartoum to Tripoli in Libya, then the waves of migration will grow stronger over time.
The waves of refugees and migrants will not stop in spite of any walls built or measures taken. If Europe wants to avoid the waves of migration, it must seek out a solution at the source. There were desperation rules and life has lost all value.
The waves of migration will cease when order and calm is restored in the greater area. Europe has a duty foremost to act where the crisis is generated. If it wants a real solution it must seek out and invest in a solution at the root of the crisis.
Otherwise it must come to terms with the idea that over the next years it must prepare to receive tens of million of desperate people who see Europe as another Promised Land.
