The omnibus bill containing the first list of prior actions agreed with the country’s creditors was approved in Parliament by the relevant committees on Wednesday and will be tabled in the parliament’s plenum on Thursday, ahead of a vote on Friday.

As expected only SYRIZA and the Independent Greeks supported the bill, with New Democracy, PASOK/DIMAR, Golden Dawn, KKE and The River voting against it. The Union of Centrists was reserved.

The Alternate Minister of Finances Tryfon Alexiadis denounced the allegation that the Parliament is merely voting everything it is being given, while stressing the “the negotiation is ongoing, we have not resigned”. Mr. Alexiadis withdrew two controversial paragraphs related to the taxation of income derived from rent.
