The administrative employees of the University of Athens have gone on strike on Monday 12 October, in solidarity with 14 of their colleagues who are being prosecuted for the major strike against the suspensions in 2013 which lasted three and a half months.

Additionally, the association of the university’s administrative employees has called for a solidarity demonstration outside the courts on Monday, where their colleagues will stand trial.

Monday’s strike came after a series of walk outs on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday last week. The administrative employees also carried out a demonstration outside the Ministry of Justice demanding that prosecutions over the strike be called off.
