The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has announced an international conference on religious and political pluralism and peaceful coexistence in the Middle East, which is scheduled to take pace between the 18th and 20th of October in Athens, in light of the ongoing conflicts.

The conference will focus on examining all aspects of the crucial mater and discuss ways to protect fundamental rights and freedoms in the diverse religious and cultural communities in the Middle East. The aim is to promote peaceful coexistence, with dignity and mutual understanding.

Additionally, the conference will allow for the constructive discussion between the regional and international actors, with an emphasis on the humanitarian crisis experienced by the local populations, within the framework of protecting the universal human values of protecting human life, tolerance, pluralism, peaceful co-existence, multiculturalism and freedom of religion.

Invitations to the international conference have been extended to the Patriarchs and leaders of Christian churches in the region, religious leaders and important divs from the Muslim world, as well as distinguished representatives of international politics, academia and civil society.
