The Deputy Minister of Culture and Sport Stavros Kontonis stressed that his prerogative is to tackle the serious issue of violence in sport, by taking advantage of existing legislation and further developing it, in compliance with new demands and developments.
Mr. Kontonis underlined that the government’s main policy and directives regarding sport were established in January and still aply.
At the handover ceremony, Mr. Kontonis thanked the Prime Minister for reappointing him as Minister of Sport and commented that while the challenges ahead of him are major, he was hopeful of overcoming them.
