The General Secretary of the Communist Party (KKE) Dimitris Koutsoumpas thanked the hundreds of thousands of voters who supported his party in the critical elections and who “ignored the extortionate dilemmas and overcame the inhibitions and reservations”.

Mr. Koutsoumpas promised that his party would take advantage of its political, electoral and parliamentary forces in order to work towards «the total recasting and strengthening of the labor-popular movement, to build a great social and popular alliance”.

Furthermore, Mr. Koutsoumpas also argued that his party was the only force against the bailout agreements and stressed that his party will only be on the side of the people and against “every government that is prepared to implement the harsh bailout”.
