The German Chancellor Angela Merkel is willing to come to a compromising agreement with the new Greek government, according to an article published in the electronic edition of Der Spiegel.

The article cites a statement by Mrs. Merkel, which she made as she arrived at the European Union Summit in Brussels, where she referred to a compromise.

Mrs. Merkel explained that the goal of all European partners is to agree on a compromising solution. In order to be acceptable though, the benefits of the agreement would have to outweigh the disadvantages.
