The Ministry of Finances has announced that it plans on paying out 44 million euros for the heating oil benefit next week, bringing the total to 74 million for this year, with a further 210 million euros set aside for 2015.
According to the Ministry’s announcement, only 8% of applications for the heating oil benefit have been rejected and the process is going along as planned.
The State Accounting Office’s data shows that the number of beneficiaries and the size of the first benefit installment have nearly doubled compared to last year. The Ministry has attributed this development to the 30% cut in the special consumption tax on heating oil.
