The Ministry of Labor has announced that a total of 19,900 applications, which concern 26,800 applicants, have been submitted for its ambitious minimum guaranteed income benefit.

After the Social Services have inspected the applications submitted to the Ministry of Labor, the lists of beneficiaries will be finalized, so that payments can begin to be made as soon as possible.

About 65% of the applicants declared a zero income in the past 12 months, while 25% declared an income of up to 2,000 and just 10% earned between 2,000 to 5,000 euros on an annual basis.

The Ministry also revealed that 8.5% of applicants are between the ages of 18-25, 37% are aged between 26-40, 49% are aged 41-65 and 5% are over the age of 65.
