Giorgos Soukouras [pictured], the man who is thought to have attempted to bribe Independent Greeks MP Stavroula Xoulidou, is to submit a deposition on Friday, in relation to charges of attempted bribery.

According to Mrs. Xoulidou, the suspect approached her via Facebook and offered her between 2-3 million euros in order to ensure that she votes in the upcoming Presidential elections.

During the exchanges, Mr. Soukouras appears to confirm that another MP, Panagiotis Melas, has already accepted a bribe. Mr. Melas has since resigned from the party and has vehemently stressed that he has not received a bribe.
