The police are close to solving the case of an armed robbery of a 50-year-old lawyer in Penteli from about two weeks ago. The official police reports indicates that two assailants ambushed the lawyer to steal a briefcase containing 30,000 euros and shot the victim in the face, before escaping.
According to information made available to To Vima the two assailants come from the former Soviet Republic and had been informed of the lawyer’s habits from a compatriot who worked for the lawyer. During the attack the 50-year-old was shot in the face, but managed to drive himself to the “Gennimatas” hospital for treatment.
By using footage from nearby cameras, analyzing telephone calls and taking witness testimonials, the police was able to determine the identity of the two assailants.
