A group of 17 New Democracy MPs submitted a proposal in Parliament on Tuesday morning so that farmers are taxed more favorably.

The MPs have requested that the income of farmers and their family members be exempt from income tax and that farmers do not pay a trader levy. Additionally they want to exclude farmers from the compulsory down payment of taxes and requested that EU subsidies are not taxed or withheld.

The proposal has been signed by Iordanis Tzamtzis, Ilias Vlachogiannis, Giorgos Kontogiannis, Athanasios Davlouros, Pavlos Vogiatzis, Dimitris Christogiannis, Fevronia Patrianakou, Andreas Marinos, Yannis Paschalidis, Michalis Tamilos, Zetta Makri, Lefteris Avgenakis, Kostas Koutsogiannakopoulos, Kostas Tzavaras, Dimitris Sampaziotis, Kostas Klitsiotis and Maximos Harakopoulos.
