The Bank of Greece has issued a press release regarding the central government’s cash balance in the ten-month period between January and October 2014.

According to the bank, there was a 2.250 billion euro deficit, which was reduced compared to the 9.074 billion euro deficit that was documented in the same ten-month period of 2013.

Furthermore, the Bank of Greece notes that the ordinary budget revenue amounted to 38.391 billion euros (37.993 billion euros in 2013), which includes 1.310 billion euros from the repayment of preference shares.

The ordinary budget expenditure came to 40.068 billion euros (47.904 billion euros in 2013) and includes the repayment of 336 million in arrears and 451 million euros towards the ESM.
