A 26-year-old man and his 29-year-old sister are being held by the authorities in Rhodes as the main suspects in the murder of their 69-year-old grandmother.

The victim was found dead in her home in the Asgouros area on the Aegean island early on Tuesday morning, with preliminary reports suggesting she was murdered on Monday evening.

According to the same reports, the 69-year-old woman had obvious traumas in the face, but no weapon has been identified. A medical examiner and crime investigation agents have been called out to assist the local police.

The police officers discovered that a bathroom window had been tampered with and the victim’s television was missing. The television was later recovered from two other individuals, who are now facing charges of receiving stolen goods.

The investigation focused on the possible implication of family members, with the police focusing on the two grandchildren. An official statement by the local authorities is expected later in the day.
