The Minister of Public Order Vasilis Kikilias as informed the Prime Minister Antonis Samaras of his recent trip to the USA, where he discussed various issues related to tackling terrorism.

On his way out of the Prime Minister’s office, Mr. Kikilias told journalists the American Secretary General praised the recent Greek efforts in tackling terrorism. Mr. Kikilias also noted that in response to the jihadist threat, Greece and the USA would be expanding their current cooperation in terrorism, by exchanging intelligence and increasing screening efforts.

As for the American bounty on escaped 17 November’s Christodoulos Xiros, the Public Order Minister noted that was a mater of the US State Department and argued that financial and political stability contribute towards the sense of security that has encouraged tourism.
