Jean-Claude Juncker has announced his choices for the new European Commission of 2014-2019 and has appointed Dimitris Avramopoulos as Commissioner for Migration and Home Affairs.
Furthermore, former New Democracy MEP Margaritis Schinas has been appointed as Chief Spokesman in the new European Commission. The Cypriot Commissioner Christos Stylianidis has been given the portfolio for Humanitarian Aid and Crisis Response.
